Jio 5G to be available from second half of 2021, confirms Mukesh Ambani [ हिंदी में ]
Ambani revealed that the
company plans to implement the service in the second half of 2021, while also
adding that the network by the company will be built indigenously.
He revealed this news in the fourth edition of India Mobile Congress.
Ambani also added that 5G network
in India will help in the country's attempts to become Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) policy.
It will be equipped with indigenous-developed
network, hardware and technology components.
Jio has been working on 5G with companies
including Samsung and Qualcomm for some time.
Apart from
rolling out 5G in the country, Jio is in development of an affordable Android
phone in collaboration with Google that is likely to debut in the coming months.
